Asian Festival — Year of the Ox
January 31, 2009 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
The Asian Festival at UTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures is a community event honoring Asian cultures and traditions from the Pacific Rim.
In addition to the wide variety of delicious foods – including Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Pakistani, Filipino and Polynesian – the festival showcases a wide variety of performances, including martial arts and dance demonstrations. Other activities include Ikebana floral arrangement, seminars, Asian games like Go and Mah-jongg and vendors selling Asian crafts, jewelry, clothing and more. This year we celebrate the year of the Ox. Individuals born in the year of the ox (1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, and 2009) are known for their dependability and strength.

Pues de esto yo participe en la marcha en honor a el me gusto porque era una marcha de solo negritos ya que era su dia y vi mucha gente blanca demostrando su amistad y hermandad todo era linda y fantastico .....

ASPIRACIONES PERSONALES: una es terminar mi carrera de ingenieria ambiental,

Pero por el momento mi carrera haca en los EE.UU.

Sacar a mi comunidad, familia, y mi Pais, me siento orgulloso de lo que soy por eso me preparo para un futuro mejor con mucha voluntad de salir adelante, ahora veo una luz que se me habre en mi camino.

Voy a dar todo de mi lo que voy aprender voy a trasmitirlo y trabajar por los que me neseciten lo prometo voy a dar el ultimo sudor de mi conocimiento..

ASPIRACIONES PROFECIONALES:

Pues una sera trabajar con niños ya que ellos son el futuro de todos darles ya mejor preparacion en su mentalidad y fortaleza, donde quepa todo de donde son, quienes son, de quienes son, para que estan preparandoce..

Otra de que los pueblos de mi pais se puedan dar una mejor amistad de ayuda entre todos trabajar en lo que es el rescate del medio ambiente, que es bueno y que no es bueno, que sepan de lo que nos puede pasar si destruimos lo lindo que nos representa.

Y trabajar por el bien personal y de todos los que deseen ser ayudados.

RECIBIMIENTO DEL GRUPO CASS

Esto si que fue duro ya que estube encargado de todo porque estaba de lider en ese mes, pero todo me salio bien ya que, disfrutaron al maximo, comensamos con el recibimiento en la noche como a la 1 de la mañana, llegaron les cantamos una cancion de amigos les deceamos una bienvinida linda les mostramos los apartamentos sus cosas, utilidades como deven hacer manejar, luego en la noche del sabado el grupo IALS le preparo una bien venida con todos las deleyes comida, tambien conyamos con la presencia del hermano Benito que es una persona maravillosa nos ayudo con el local en la iglesia estubo otras personas de la secula; les dieron muchos animos y consejos, por el momento pense que todo me hiva a salir mal pero con el apoyo de algu nos me salio super y don gracias a los que me supieron brindar su humildad de hermandad eso es lo que les puedo platicar de ese dia tan lindo que como les recibimos tambien los despedimos ya que ellos se van antes de nosotros okay bye

ENTREVISTA

Fue un dia de mucha practica de todos en el ingles ya que tuvimos que hablar en inglesh y español, todos en su lado y con su pareja de lo que van a decir, el nervio de hacer eso dava ganas de salir corriendo dotos con una cara bien vestidos con las ganas de poner un granito de fuerza en lo planteado pero saben, el video fue un exito aunque no tan lindos todos pero ahi le dimos y esperamos que haya sido un exito, fue un paso a nuestro avance y va bien ...

Les digo que fue la primera ves en mi vida que yo visite un decierto ya que vi cosas que jamas e visto fue lindo todo aprendi a manejar la brujula, vimos animales, y lo que mas me atrajo fue el microscopio MCDONAL QUE ES EL TERCER MICROSCOPIO MAS GRANDE DEL MUNDO,

tuve la oportunidad de ver las estrellas,galaxias,y otras cosas,fue cosas que jamas en la vida te vas olvidar que con el tiempo tienes pa contar a tus hijos, prinos , y demas conocidos, todoesto se lo damos gracias al programa ya que por ellos se hace posible que los sueños de cada uno se cumpla......todos lo disfrutaron al maximo, yo tube la oportunidad de comentarlos con mis familiares que estan muy felices por todo lo que yo hago por ellos se sienten orgullosos de lo que vivo cada dia

TRES ASPECTOS PROBLEMATICOS

1. fue el inglesh ya que cuando llegamos no sabiamos que decian ni que decir, fue un reto para todos saber entender y saber hablar, todo comenso con mucho esfuerzo pero ahi seguimos caminando hacia el progreso..
2. El no poder estar con nuestros seres queridos en las fechas mas importantes, nos golpio tambien el cambio de vida como los presio, mucho gente migra haca por una mejor vida o mas claro por el sueño americano que no existe, la vida para algunos es muy dura y cruel que cada dia luchan por un pan de cada dia.
3. Otra es el cambio de clima que estan diferente de donde cada uno de nosotros venimos, es tan raro ya que ha cada rato cambia el clima pero todos tienes que hacer un esfuerzo y darle por lo que venimos..

Pastaza Province, Ecuador

Pastaza is a province in the Orient of Ecuador located in the eastern jungle. The capital is Puyo, founded on May 12 , 1899 and boasts 25,800 inhabitants. The city is now accessible by paved roads, a recent development, and the road follows the Pastaza river into the province.

The Pastaza River surges into the province from the west and as the landscape flattens, meanders on to the Napo, a tributary of the mighty Amazon. Natural resources of Pastaza are bananas, grapefruit, tobacco, cocoa and coffee. Tea has successfully been cultivated by a few British companies, and in the mid eighties one of the companies was honored by a visit from Princess Margaret from the royal family of Britain.

The landscape is mostly mountainous in the western part of the province and becomes relatively flat toward the east as it nears the Peruvian border with rivers and plains characterizing most of the province. The highest elevation is 1,820 meters (5,970 ft). The climate is warm and humid due to the almost 7 meters of annual rainfall (22 feet)in the parts closest to the western mountains, but with significant amounts of rainfall throughout the province. The median temperature is 18 to 24 degrees Celsius. It is rumored that there is a lot of gold in the rivers of Pastaza, however, to date no significant discoveries of gold have been reported.

Snakes and other poisonous creatures, such as tarantulas and scorpions, are common in the province and travellers are advised to be cautious in any trekking through the jungles, parks and trails, some that are under development and some well established. Some of the snakes blend extremely well even in trees, so walking sticks for hiking and/or machetes are a good precaution.
The flora of the region is absolutely spectacular. A few local parks have been developed with myriad natural orchids from the area and admittance to these parks is relatively inexpensive.

Rainy day gear is advised since the rains are present almost year round, many times in the late afternoon, but occasional all day rains as well. The rain is quite warm compared to the north American experience.

Pastaza is the largest province in Ecuador and the richest in biodiversity. To the north of Pastaza are the provinces Napo and Orellana, to the south is Morona Santiago, to the east is the country of Peru, and to the west are the provinces Tungurahua and Moronga Santiago. The total population is about 62,110 inhabitants. The province is divided into 4 cantons,(political regions).

La presentacion de los cuatro paises de Sur America, todo fue un exito demostradopor cada uno de los chicos, en la cual demostraron su comida, vestimenta, costumbres, danza, etc.

Al final de esto huvo una exelente comida de parte de BOLIVIA Y PERU, todo estaba rico que me comi solo un plato,

esto me gusto por que nos recuerda de donde somos y de donde venimos.

Saben lo que les voy a contar es lindo y me duele mucho pero, yo jamas dejo de hablar de mi hermano y mi hermana, ellos fueron unos chicos que sufrieron mucho, lucharon,dieron todo de su parte, tube la oportunidad de convivir con mi hernano hasta cuando yo tenia 14 años fue un un exelente hermano mayor tube el ejemplo de el ser comedido, voluntario, respetuoso, y sobre todo cuidar de mi familia que eso el me lo pidio hantes de que Dios le lleve a su lado, todo pase con el y fue duro para mi y mi familia llegarlo a perder fue un segundo dolor para todos aun no se puede curar o llenar ese vasio que el dejo en nosotros lo recordamos y lo amamos tanto que yo lo nesecito mucho, pero el siempre esta con todos en cada cosita de mi y mi familia esta el y mi hermana..

Mi hermana se marcho de nuestro lado cuando yo tenia 9 años la recuerdo poco pero es suficiente para mi tenerla presente en mi vida fue una hermana de ejemplo para todos valiente, de caracter fuerte, no le gustaba que nos hagan daño se enfrentaba al que sea por mi familia ella fue el primer golpe en nosotros dolio mucho pero ahi es la vida Dios sabe cuando tienes que dejar a tus seres queridos yo se que los dos nos cuidan y nos apoyan desde donde ellos estan mi familia esta muy orgullosa de los dos ya que fueron, son y seran una parte importante entre todos...
